St. Charles is adding a massive bronze sculpture to Historic Main Street, but the person it honors may be someone many Missourians have never heard of.
Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable is widely recognized as the founder of Chicago, but his story also has a connection to St. Charles. The new 8-and-a-half-foot sculpture called “Explorer” is now in place outside the Saint Charles County Historical Society. St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer joins Show Me Today to talk about DuSable, his connection to the city and why St. Charles wanted to tell this part of its history.
