If you think of baseball in St. Louis, the Cardinals probably come to mind first. But the history of baseball in the city goes far beyond the Redbirds. There have been Negro League teams, the St. Louis Browns, women who played the game, local baseball inventions, and generations of fans who have made the sport part of everyday life.
Now the Missouri Historical Society is bringing 100 of those stories together in a new exhibit called “St. Louis at Bat.” Adam Kloppe is a public historian with the Missouri Historical Society.
