If you’re looking for something a little unusual to see in the Ozarks, there’s a two-headed snake living at the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery near Branson. But that’s just one of the interesting things you’ll find at Missouri’s largest trout production facility. The hatchery has been raising trout since 1958 and produces more than a million catchable trout every year, many of which end up in Lake Taneycomo and other Missouri trout waters.
The Accidental Ozarkian, Barbara Baird, has spent plenty of time exploring the Ozarks, and she joins us to talk about this fascinating hatchery, the two-headed snake, and some of the things visitors might not realize are waiting for them there.
