Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy is recovering after being wounded in a shooting early Sunday morning in his hometown of Laurel, Mississippi. Police say the shooting happened around 2 a.m. outside the Kamakazie Biker Club following an outdoor rap concert that drew a large crowd. Authorities described the scene as chaotic, with multiple gunshots fired as people were leaving the event. Hardy was one of at least three victims and later underwent surgery. He’s listed in stable condition.

Three 19-year-old suspects from Laurel have been brought in for questioning as the investigation continues. Police say they’ve recovered multiple shell casings and are still working to determine a motive.

The University of Missouri released a statement saying Hardy is surrounded by support from teammates, coaches and family, adding there is currently no timetable for his return to football activities. Hardy is coming off a standout season for the Tigers, finishing second in the nation and rushing for 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns while earning first-team All-SEC honors.
