Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush is praising the Biden Administration over its role in the temporary cease fire between Israel and Hamas.

The four-day pause in hostilities was brokered by the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar, and will allow for the release of Israeli and some American hostages being held in Gaza. In a statement, Bush called the cease fire “a welcome and necessary start,” but also said the push for a permanent cease fire needs to continue.

Bush, a Democrat from St. Louis, has come under fire from Republican members of Missouri’s congressional delegation, accusing her of sympathizing with terrorists.

Hostilities began October 7th when Hamas terrorists invaded southern Israel and killed more than 1,200 people. Israeli military forces have since retaliated, resulting in the deaths of about 13,000 Palestinians, according to NPR.
