Mizzou vs Tennessee 2nd Quarter Summary (VIDEO)

-On 3rd and 11 for Tennessee to start the quarter Ian Simon nearly intercepts a Joshua Dobbs pass but the incompletion does force a punt.  The punt is downed at the Tigers 3 yard line and they start from there.

-The Tigers go three and out and after a Brinser punt the Volunteers start at their own 48 yard line with 13:25 left in the quarter and Mizzou still leading 7-0.

-Tennessee reaches the Mizzou 37 yard line but a sack by Markus Golden forces a punt that goes into the end zone and the Tigers start their next drive at their own 20 yard line with 10:56 left in the quarter.

-Mizzou goes 74 yards in 10 plays and cap the drive with a 24 yard field goal by Andrew Baggett.  Maty Mauk had a 19 yard carry on the drive that ended on an incomplete pass on 3rd and 4 from the Tennessee 6 yard line.  With 6:58 left in the quarter the Tigers are up 10-0.

-On Tennessee’s next drive Kony Ealy puts pressure on Tennessee QB Joshua Dobbs who throws a pass picked off by EJ Gaines.   He returns it to the Tennessee 26.

-It takes the Tigers just one play to get in the end zone on a Maty Mauk to L’Damian Washington strike.  Washington was as alone in the end zone as possible.  With 6:35 left in the quarter it is Missouri 17 Tennessee 0.

-The Vols start their next drive at their own 23 yard line.  They get a 33 yard run from QB Joshua Dobbs to get into Missouri territory but on 3rd and 13 Josh Smith drops a pass after getting wide open over the middle.  The Volunteers settle for a 51 yard field goal by Michael Palardy to make it 17-3 Tigers with 4:13 left in the quarter.

-After the Tigers start their next drive at their own 15 yard line they put together an 85 yard drive that results in a Maty Mauk to Marcus Lucas 40 yard touchdown.  With 1:44 left in the quarter the Tigers lead Tennessee 24-3.

-After Tennessee starts at their own 25 yard line they get into Tigers territory when Darvin Ruise forces a fumble by QB Joshua Dobbs and the Tigers take over at their own 29 yard line.

-Mizzou puts together an impressive drive to get to the Tennessee 11 yard line with :01 second left in the quarter but Andrew Baggett’s 29 yard field goal is no good and the half ends.
