Folgia, Gibson named Big 12 first teamers

Juniors Greg Folgia and Kyle Gibson were named to the first team All-Big 12 team as the third seeded Tigers get ready for the Big 12 Tournament that starts Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

The Tigers will rely on the arm of Gibson.  This is his third All-Big 12 honor ttaking honorable mention selections in 2007 and 2008.  Gibson leads the Big 12 with 116 strikeouts in 92.2 innings pitched, He is 9-3 with five complete games in Big 12 play. Folgia has a team-leading .340 batting average, with 12 home runs and 64 RBI.

The Tigers also had three players make honorable mention.  Junior Trevor Coleman and Aaron Senne join senior Kyle Mach for those honors.  Mach was the best hitting Tiger in Big 12 play with a .337 batting average.  

He is also riding a 15 game hitting streak into today’s 4pm game with Texas A & M. 
Senne is hitting .295 with four home runs and 15 doubles, while Coleman drove in 11 runs in league play before an injury forced him to miss the final six Big 12 contests.
