Several Mo. schools make NAIA D-I tournament

Central Methodist, Columbia College and William Jewell, qualified for the men’s NAIA D-I tournament which starts on the 18 th at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City.  Columbia, Evangel, William Jewell and William Woods qualified on the women’s side of NAIA D-I.  Those games start the 18 th in Jackson, TN.

The Runnin’ Eagles of Central Methodist went 27-6 on the year and were runners-up in the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament.  The Cougars from Columbia went 27-6 and make their 14th appearance in the NAIA tournament, but are a disappointing 3-13 in the tournament.  William Jewell qualified with a 22-10 record.

On the women’s side, Columbia got an at-large bid thanks to their 28-4 regular season record.  Evangel makes their first D-I appearance after seven previous appearances on the D-II level.  William Jewell is also new to this tournament after five trips at D-II and William Woods finished 21-10 and the Owls make their second appearance.
