SBU slides, Mules on the climb

January 27, 2009 By admin Leave a Comment

The SBU Bearcats fell three spots to #9 in the latest NABC/Division II Coaches Poll, while the Mules jump up to #18 following a 2-0 week that included a win over the Bearcats.

Findlay and LIU-C.W. Post are the last two undefeated teams in Division II and remain one and two overall. Findlay has been the top-ranked team for nine consecutive weeks. Central Oklahoma remains third and BYU-Hawaii moves up to number four. Alderson- Broaddus (14- 1) moved into the top five, but had its 14- game winning streak ended Monday night at West Liberty State in a game that will not be reflected in the poll until next week.

The second five includes Gannon at #6, followed by Augusta State, Bellarmine, SBU and Stonehill.

Central Missouri is the only other MIAA team in the top 25, moving up six spots to #18 after wins over SBU and Truman State.
