April 29, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Tim Clubb, courtesy MSU athletic department Missouri State sophomore righthander Tim Clubb has been named this week’s Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Clubb upped his record to 7-0 by tossing seven scoreless innings of three-hit ball against Illinois State on Friday. He retired the first 12 Redbirds he faced before allowing a walk and a double to begin the fifth.

Clubb ranks first in the MVC with 71 innings pitched and second with 68 strikeouts, and is the first Missouri State pitcher to win his first seven decisions of the season since reliever Andrew Jefferson in 2002.
