Dominique Byrd, the Rams’ third-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, was arrested in Los Angeles over the weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence.  He was released Sunday night.

The California Highway Patrol said Byrd was arrested about 20 minutes north of L.A. at 2:34 a.m. Sunday morning.  A DUI charge is expected to be filed against the former USC Trojan in the near future.

"It’s not the kind of news you want to hear," Rams’ Head Coach Scott Linehan said. "We’ll turn that over to the league."

Byrd is currently facing assault and armed criminal action charges stemming from an arrest outside a nightclub in St. Louis Dec. 4.

He caught two passes for 39 yards in five games last season.
