Governor Declares State of Emergency

January 13, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt declares a state of emergency in the wake of the blast from Old Man Winter. The Governor has activated the Missouri National Guard, activated the Missouri State Emergency Operations Plan, and has put the Disaster Medical Assistance Team on standby in anticipation of mounting emergencies. The ice and snow have led to numerous cancellations and closings in various regions of the state. And, the weather has resulted in a number of power outages, with the Springfield and St. Louis areas the hardest hit. Under the State Emergency Operations Plan, state agencies will be directed to provide support in affected areas.
