Kansas City Councilwoman Saundra McFadden-Weaver has been indicted for fraud. A federal grand jury has filed seven charges against her. Two others have been indicted with her – a man she says is an acquaintance, and an employee of a mortgage company in Grandview. Weaver says she does not plan to give up her City Council seat and plans to seek re-election this year. She’s accused of signing papers for a $400,000 home in Lee’s Summit, saying she planned to live there. If she had moved there she would have lost her Council seat. She claims she just signed the papers in return for remodeling work on a home she was buying in her legislative district.
