The Springfield Cardinals used a six-run first inning and a solid pitching performance from Mike Parisi to knock off Midland 7-2.

Parisi earned his eighth win – third in a row – of the year holding the RockHounds to two runs – one earned – on just three hits and striking out eight in 7.2 innings of work.

The Cardinals offense was led by Nick Stavinoha who was 3-for-4 including a home run and four RBI. His three-run blast in the first inning sparked the rally that ultimately put the game away early. Iker Franco added a three-run shot of his own in the same inning.
