MU Softball To Host NCAA Regional

May 16, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri softball team lost to Texas 2-0 in the Big 12 Tournament title game this weekend, but their performance this season was good enough to earn one of 16 NCAA regional tournaments.

The Tigers, which are ranked 18th in the nation, have a record of 42-13 on the season and will face Southern Illinois (46-12). Stanford (40-14) will get Robert Morris (29-20-1). The games will be played Friday and Saturday at University Field in Columbia.

The winner of this weekend’s tournament will advance to the Super Regionals, then the field will be whittled down to eight teams which will advance to the NCAA Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma from June 2-8.
