The top man at the Missouri National Guard, who is also now the State Homeland Security Director, might not be holding those positions for long. General Dennis Shull takes over a dual-role as Missouri National Guard Commander and Interim Director of the State Homeland Security Department as former Director Tim Daniel leaves the post. Shull stresses this is just until the new Governor can find a replacement. But Shull adds Governor-elect Matt Blunt will also have to look for a new Adjutant General – because he wants to retire and spend more time with his family. As for successors as Guard Commander, Shull points out several of his deputies would make fine choices for the new Governor, but he says that will be up to Blunt.
