Danforth Takes Oath As U.S. Ambassador To U.N.

July 2, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Former Missouri Senator John Danforth has taken the oath of office as United States Ambassador to the United Nations. And he took it from one of his former assistants when he was Attorney General of Missouri. The oath was administered by Clarence Thomas, the Supreme Court Justice whose integrity Danforth defended during Thomas’s confirmation hearings. Danforth says the United Nations must stop acting as if its members were enemies. He says the real enemy is pwople who fly airplanes into buildings or build the power to destroy cities. He says the U.N. must unite to fight a common enemy.
