Missouri Supreme Court Judge Confirmed As Federal Judge

June 24, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri Supreme Court Judge Duane Benton – who had been nominated by President George W. Bush to be a federal judge – has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate on a voice vote. Judge Benton will become a federal judge on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis just as soon as he formally says goodbye to the State Supreme Court. He plans to submit his resignation within a few days. Judge Benton, a Vietnam veteran, earned his law degree from Yale Law School. He served as State Revenue Director before being appointed to the Missouri Supreme Court in 1991.
