Missouri Marks Tenth Anniversary Of Legal Casino Gambling

June 1, 2004 By admin Leave a Comment

We observe a decade of legal casino gambling in Missouri. The man in charge of enforcing state gaming laws says the major standards under which the industry got started are almost all gone, that the loss limit is about all that’s left of the major standards that were used when the first casinos opened ten years ago. The Director of Enforcement for the State Gaming Commission, Steve Johnson, says enforcement of the laws hasn’t changed much in the decade. Johnson admits the industry still wants the loss limit thrown out – and the Gaming Commission supports the idea. But he admits the public and lawmakers don’t support the idea.
