K.C. led the game 6-2, before Boston rallied with two runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth. Mark Bellhorn tied the game with a two-run home run. Jason Varitek doubled home Manny Ramirez to win the game in the ninth. Mike MacDougal took the loss for the Royals, who have now dropped 17 of their last 21 games. At 8-19, the Royals own the worst record in the majors.
