Two more counties have decided to opt out of the sales tax holiday the Legislature has declared for next August. Adair and Cole Counties say they will continue collecting their sales taxes that weekend. Commissioners in both counties say the counties need the revenue. Several cities in Missouri also have opted out. The State will not collect sales taxes August 13 through 15th on certain items that people usually buy for the start of school.
