A campaign has been started to make a Catholic priest educated in Missouri a saint. He’s Father Emil Kapaun. The effort is being led by the Wichita, Kansas Catholic Diocese. He was a Kansas native who was educated at Conception High School and College in Conception, Missouri. He was with the Army in Korea and was captured when he refused to leave wounded members of his unit. He died in a North Korean prison camp.
