Missouri Students Compete In National Science Competition

October 22, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Three students from Missouri are in Washington, D.C, this week to compete in The Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge, which brings 40 young scientists from throughout the country to the nation’s capital todemonstrate their science projects which have caught a lot of attention. Among those taking part is 14-year-old Elena Ovaitt of Weston. Elena’s project sees her purifying apple cider through ozonation, rather than pasteurization. The other Missouri students are 6th grader Austin Minor of Lee’s Summit, whose project deals with paint recycling and 5th grader Ethan Roth of Kansas City who has come up with what he claims is an easier way to solve math problems.
