MU System Considers Eliminating Dozens Of Degree Programs

September 25, 2003 By admin Leave a Comment

Committees on the four campuses of the University of Missouri are focusing on 48 degree programs that might be eliminated for budgetary reasons. One-fourth of them are at Rolla. Seven are in Columbia. Six are on the St. Louis campus. Three are at Kansas City. That does not add up to 48, but some of the programs being examined offer multiple degrees. Two-thirds of the programs being considered are graduate programs. University officials are looking at programs with low enrollment numbers and high costs. Other factors also are being considered.
