Corrections Department officials are looking into the death of an inmate at the Jefferson City Prison. Inmate Derrell Ishmon was pronounced dead late Monday afternoon at a Jefferson City hospital. He was a 26-year-old serving a life sentence for second degree murder and armed criminal action from St. Louis County. He’s been serving time at the Jefferson City Prison since April of 1996. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
