Philanthropy Study Shows Missourians Give Generously

A study of philanthropy in Missouri shows the top ten giving foundations in the state gave away almost $200-Million in 2000. Almost one-half of that came from two foundations based in Kansas City. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the Hall Family Foundation donated more than $91.5-Million. Another $27.6-Million came from a third Kansas City foundaiton – the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trusts. The biggest-giving foundation from St. Louis was the Danforth Foundation – $17.2-Million.
