High School Tradition Continues With Frosh and Sophs

November 28, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Today the 87th annual Turkey Day Game between Kirkwood and Webster Groves High Schools will be played. Since Webster Groves is in the Class 5 State Championship game on Saturday, the teams will start freshmen and sophomores. While this is will add an interesting twist to the rivalry, the seniors, who were looking forward to playing the game one last time, will be left out in the cold. It’s not as bad for the Webster Groves Seniors since they still have the state title game to look forward to. But what about the Kirkwood seniors? They will still be involved even though they won’t play. They’ll be on the sidelines wearing their jerseys, they will participate in the coin toss and lead warm up drills. The game will be played at Webster Groves High School. Webster Groves leads the series 46-35-5.
