Hagin Hired As Cards PBP Man

November 20, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

It’s hard to imagine anyone filling Jack Buck’s shoes. Wayne Hagin will try. The Cardinals hired the 46-year old broadcaster yesterday. He’ll take over the full time play-by-play position, which Mike Shannon and Joel Meyers filled after Buck’s death in June. Jack Buck was a part of Cardinal broadcasts for 47 years, or one year longer than Hagin’s been alive. Certainly, Hagin’s has a prominent baseball broadcasting background. He’s been involved in broadcasting the sport for the last 20 years. He’s spent the last nine as the voice of the Colorado Rockies. He’s also done games for the A’s, Giants, and White Sox.
