Health Department Missourians To Get Flu Shots

October 21, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Health Department is gearing up for flu season even though the worst of it isn’t expected to hit Missouri until the middle to the end of December. The Health Department’s Sue Denny says for many Missourians – those considered to be at low risk for the flu – delaying getting flu shots will probably not have too many negative consequences. However, those at higher risk – a group which includes women more than twelve weeks pregnant, those over 65 years of age, and people battling long-term illnesses – are being advised to get the vaccine as soon as possible.
