The Cardinals doubled up the Reds 10-5, but it wasn’t as easy as the score indicates. The Reds rallied for five runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead. With one swing of the bat, Edgar Renteria got St. Louis to within a run, hitting a grand slam in the third inning. Tino Martinez hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to tie it. Scott Rolen gave St. Louis the lead with a home run of his own in the sixth. Luther Hackman was the winner in relief. St. Louis upped their lead in the National League Central to five games, thanks to the Astros loss to the Padres last night.
