The Chiefs have fined rookie Eddie Freeman $2,500 for hitting John Tait in the head with his helmet. Tait will miss at least a week with a broken nose and 17 stitches in his head. Tait threw the first punch, but Dick Vemeil felt the retaliation was out of line. Originally, Vermeil said there wouldn’t be any disciplinary action as a result of the fracas.
