The state’s largest electric utility company is taking steps to see there is no repeat of the month-long fish kill that claimed more than 43,000 fish at Bagnell Dam at the Lake of the Ozarks. Gary Rainwater is President and Chief Operating Officer of AmerenUE, which owns the dam. He says a fish kill of this magnitude has not been seen at the Dam in the past. Ameren is going to be working with the State Conservation Department to come up with solutions to the problem. Rainwater says those solutions might include flashing lights or even barriers to keep the fish away from the dam.
