March 6, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

A company that makes child safety seats for automobiles has been ordered by a St. Louis jury to pay $10.5 and-a–half million dollars to a family whose child suffered permanent head injury in a car crash. The jury says the seat made by Cosco did not protect the child fromside impact. Cosco is now Dorel Juvenile Group, Incorporated. The family’s attorney says they rejected a $500,000 settlement offer before the trial. The seat-maker plans an appeal.
