Economists Expect Tough Times Ahead

Economists appearing before state lawmakers in Jefferson City expect revenue collections to get worse before they get better. The economists told members of the House and Senate Budget Committees that both the state and the country are not likely to see the growth we have seen in recent years, even though things should start to improve early in the new year. Budget Director Brian Long, who listened to the testimony of the economists, says the report was not unexpected.
