It was a statement game yesterday at the Dome for the St. Louis Rams. Kurt Warner completed 26 of his 42 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns, Marshall Faulk scored a pair of touchdowns and the Ram defense pressured 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia into a 13 for 36 performance. Put it all together and you get a convincing 27-14 win for St. Louis, and that win leaves the Rams alone in first place in the division with a 10-2 record. Ricky Proehl led all receivers for the Rams with six catches for 109 yards and a score. Aeneas Williams intercepted Garcia twice for St. Louis and he also held All-Pro receiver Terrell Owens to just three catches for 54 yards. After the game, Ricky Proehl talked to reporters about his big day.
