A large provider of workers compensation in Missouri has been told to stop selling new policies or renewing existing policies in Missouri. Reliance Insurance Companies has had financial difficulties for some time now, and the state of Pennsylvania, which had taken over management of the company, has liquidated its assets. The Missouri Department of Insurance has issued the order of prohibition. A spokesman for the department says businesses who need help finding a new workers compensation provider can contract the department.
