Missouri Seniors Served By New State Agency

August 28, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri’s senior citizens have a new state agency serving them. The Department of Health and Senior Services comes into being today as the Division of Aging moves from the Department of Social Services into the State Health Department. The move is aimed at changing the way in which services are delivered to the elderly. It’s estimated Missouri has almost one million people who are 60 or older. The Department things that number will increase by 65 percent in the next quarter-century. It says those benefitting from the agency’s programs should notice no difference in the delivery of services.
