Royals Winning Streak Ends

June 18, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The Milwaukee Brewers snapped 1-1 6th inning tie with three runs off of righthander Blake Stein, leading the Brewers past the Kansas City Royals 5-2. Kansas City sees their five-game winning streak come to a halt with the defeat. Stein (3-5) allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings of work, he did strike out 11 while in the game. The righthander struck out eight-straight Brewers at one point, tying an American league record held by five pitchers including Roger Clemens. Joe Randa and A.J. Hinch hit solo home runs to account for the Royals only tallies of the game.
