The Seattle Mariners pounded out 17 hits en route to an easy 13-3 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday. With the victory, Seattle completes a four-game sweep of the Royals. John Olerud led the way for the M’s with four hits, Carlos Guillen added three knocks for the winners. All this offense made Paul Abbott’s job easy, the Mariners starter improved to 3-3 on the season with his first career complete game. Chad Durbin allowed six of the Seattle runs on eight hits in three plus innings of work to take the loss. The righthander is now 3-3 on the season. The Royals fall to 18-32 on the season. They open a three-game series in Texas tonight.
