April 9, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

A rift has developed between Governor Bob Holden and organized labor. The head of the Missouri AFL-CIO has written the organization’s executive board members and affiliates to ask that they stop sending money tot he Democratic Party and the Governor until the rift has mended. Hugh McVey says Holden failed to name someone sympathetic to labor to the Senate Apportionment Committee, which is redrawing the Senate boundaries. McVey says Holden has ignored labor since the election.
