President-elect George W. Bush came to the defense of Senator John Ashcroft today. He emphasized he isn’t worried about the tough questions facing Ashcroft as Bush’s nominee for U.S. Attorney General. He told reporters that when people look at Ashcroft’s record, and realize he intends to enforce the nation’s laws fairly, that he will be approved.
