DEM 2000: National party eyes Missouri

August 21, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Missouri is a battleground state this political year. The General Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Ed Rendell, says Missouri is one of a half dozen states “in play” that democrats must dominate to win. Joining Missouri on Rendell’s short list are New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois on that list. Rendell says Missouri isn’t just important in whether Al Gore wins the presidency. He says the state has important races up and down the ballot, including huge races for US Senate and governor.
