Jewish respond to Lieberman nod

August 7, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Those of the Jewish faith feel they have new stature in the country now that Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut has emerged as Al Gore’s apparent choice for vice-presidential running mate. Rabbi Amy Wallk Katz says being a practicing orthodox Jew has never stopped Senator Lieberman from honoring his religion, and won’t if Lieberman is elected Vice President. She says Jews hold Lieberman out as a role model. Katz says Lieberman has earned a good reputation not only on capital hill, but also in religious circles because of his orthodox faith.
