Missouri’s women survived a wild finish and overtime to win their opening NIT game. The Tigers beat Evansville 84-81. The Aces scored at, or after the buzzer, in regulation to send the game to overtime. Two officials waved off the basket, but a third stepped in and ruled it was good. The Tigers regrouped, and used an 8-0 run in overtime to win the game. Mizzou overcame 30 points and 14 rebounds by Evansville’s Shyla McKibbon. Amanda Lassiter led the Tigers with 23 points and 9 boards. Senior Amy Monsees scored a season-high 22. Missouri will play Arkansas Saturday night in Fayetteville in the second round.
