Missouri national guardsmen out of St. Joseph are lending assistance in Florida after a tornado struck.

Members of the 139th Airlift Wing were at an air show Lakeland, Fla., demonstrating parachute jumps when a twister touched down in the middle of the crowded scene earlier today.

Dozens of aircraft overturned, but apparently the guard’s C-130 Hercules was heavy enough that it stayed upright.

No one from the St Joseph crew were reported to be injured, but the Florida press is reporting at least one building has collapsed in Lakeland and a number of people were trapped.
