The half-million-dollar computer software that the state ethics commission bought three years ago to process campaign donation information still does not work. The state ethics commission continues working with the software company, which it already has paid, to make the system work so people can go to their computers and see who has donated how much to which candidates for state office. And now, commission officials say, the software that has never worked correctly is becoming obsolete. The commission continues working with the software company and has no date in mind for cancellation of the contract. The commission is paying five thousand dollars a month to maintain the flawed system.
