The Maryland Heights-based company that makes Duncan Hines baking mixes and Lender’s bagels is eliminating a quarter of its corporate staff – with most of those cuts coming from the company’s headquarters. Aurora Foods has been struggling to cut costs and has decided the layoffs are necessary if the company is to remain competetive. It intends to save about $10-Million a year with the staff cuts. Aurora isn’t saying exactly how many people will lose their jobs, but has said the layoffs are being made across the board, and include executives and administrative staff.
