KC Mayor makes plea to Mizzou not to leave Big 12

October 14, 2011 By Bill Pollock

Kansas City Mayor Sly James wrote an open letter to Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton urging Mizzou to stay with the Big 12. James talked about the financial ramifications of Missouri leaving saying it would cost the state money if the Big 12 men’s basketball tournament didn’t continue at the Sprint Center, where the event generates $14 million in revenue.
