Kennett Council expresses dissatisfaction with Mayor

August 4, 2011 By Mike Lear

The city council in the Bootheel town of Kennett has told mayor Jake Crafton it doesn’t like the way he’s running things. A letter of dissatisfaction signed by all council members has been red into the city council records.  It charges Crafton has exceeded his authority, has tried to control information between city employees and council members, and has circumvented the chain of command in city operations.

Crafton says he is operating within the powers of his office.
