Murder case from 1968 closed by KC police

July 25, 2011 By Jessica Machetta

Kansas City police have closed a murder case dating to 1968 — the murder of Richard DeLeon Hill almost 44 years ago. Police say the same men killed Hill as had killed Kansas City civil rights leader and state representative Leon Jordan in 1970.

Police say tip that solved the 1968 killing came from The son of one of the suspected killers told officers his father Joe Centimano, and James Dearborn killed Hill. Both Centimano and Dearborn are long-dead. So is the son who gave police the story.
